The new lighting solution from LEDVANCE focuses on higher lux levels and better uniformity to create conditions that meet the requirements of elite sport and make the Danish national table tennis training center hall TV-broadcast-ready.

the challenge

The existing lighting did not deliver the required lux levels or sufficient uniformity. At the same time, there was a need for a solution that could be used for TV recording.

the solution

A total of 64 LB FLEX 1500 luminaires with DALI-2 control were installed. The solution combines DALI and PIR, so the lighting automatically switches on at 500 lux when activity is detected in the hall. From there, the light level can be adjusted up to 1000 lux –and back down again –as needed. This solution provides flicker-free light and flexible control for both daily training and TV recording.

The new installation delivers better lighting conditions for elite athletes, with higher light levels and improved uniformity across the playing area. The solution makes the hall suitable for TV recording and supports both daily training and events. The flexible controls make it possible to adapt the light level to the activity and the need.

It has meant the world to our sport that we now have suitable lighting at the national training centre. It strengthens our own training, our ability to attract important sparring partners to our home venue from abroad, and the opportunity to livestream unique events.
